It’s been less than two years this time! I’m getting better!
So you may have noticed a couple of changes here. Primarily that the blog is now fully named after me once more, and that the headers have all been updated. Well, there’s a reason for that: I’ve decided I want to get back into writing properly.
Why? Well it’s pretty simple. I saw a screenshot on Tumblr of a post talking about somebody who decided to try to get rejected 1,000 times in a year, and due to that, they managed to do a load of awesome things. And I looked at myself, and at the vast backlog of poems and short stories I’m accruing from going to my writing group, and I thought: hey. I can do that.
And so I am. I’ve entered two poetry competitions so far and I’m planning to go back to Duotrope and start making submissions. And for every piece of writing I submit, I’m putting a bead into a glass jar I bought off eBay for that purpose. My hope is to completely fill that jar with submissions. Doesn’t matter if every single one is a rejection or failure. I just want to fill that jar.
As such, I’ve tidied this blog up and I’m hoping – really hoping! – to use it a little bit more as this is my primary method of communicating with the world now I’ve given up micro-blogging social media and rarely touch Facebook.
I’m here and I’m ready to share with the world. Writing Career: Take Two starts now.
